ASICS Gel-Lyte III OG ‘Kobe Beef’

To coincide with the 30th anniversary of the GEL-LYTE III sneaker, ASICS is relaunching its Made in Japan program with a handcrafted rendition of their retro runner. Constructed with a soft Kobe beef leather on the upper that’s rendered with a Sakura colour palette to pay homage to Japan’s cherry blossom season, this shoe is also stitched with an ornate embroidery on the brand’s stripe logos. The heel is scripted with the phrase, GEL-LYTE III in Japanese lettering while the numbers, 19 and 90 are carved into the back — signifying the year this silhouette first hit the running market.
