Established in 1982 by Massimo Osti — as a diffusion line of his main label — C.P. Company, Stone Island is an Italian luxury menswear label with a devotion for extensive research, continual experimentation, function and use. Today, helmed by Carlo Rivetti — who took over the whole estate in 1993 — Stone Island offers a range of highly-technical apparel, footwear and accessories which reference, and speak to a range of ’80s and ’90s sub-cultures.
By using advanced technologies, experimentation with garment dyeing techniques and human capacity, Stone Island has become world-renowned for its aesthetic and functional qualities. The Italian brand’s products are instantly recognisable thanks to the signature compass patch — positioned on the upper left arm sleeve — a symbol held on by two buttons which references love for the sea and an aim for constant research.
