Description
Y-3
[ Yohji Yamamoto + Adidas ]
The purpose and the dream of the Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto was to revolutionise the fashion industry by offering elegant, highly technical and functional sportswear. He launched his Y-3 label in 2003, as a collaboration between him and the German sportswear giant Adidas. A line that has created a new category in fashion by combining the designer’s superior skillset, forward-thinking and avant-garde tailoring, and Adidas‘ unrivalled sporting heritage and innovation. The “Y” stands for Yohji Yamamoto, the “3” represents the signature Adidas three stripe logo and the “-” signifies the link between the two. By symbolising true craftsmanship, function and athletic silhouettes with an urban aesthetic, together they have developed the future in sportswear.
