Japanese retailer BEAMS joins forces with the homegrown footwear brand Mizuno to celebrate the opening of its shiny new store in Kyoto, Japan.
Presenting an outdoor-ready iteration of the Wave Rider 10′, dubbed ‘wood ash’, this extra special take on the pair is inspired by both hiking and militaristic elements.
The utilitarian approach and the sleek leather and mesh uppers are synonymous with the renowned Japanese style.
The clean silhouette is accented with ‘flame orange’ details for an elevating dose of colour. The shoes are equipped with two sets of tubular laces and shiny sock liners, whilst the signature Mizuno bird logo appears as a translucent overlay on the military-grade nylon sidewalls.
Underfoot, the Wave Rider 10 is equipped with Mizuno‘s iconic and extremely durable X10 carbon rubber that allows for longer wear in high impact areas, and gives more traction at the heel strike.
The pair was supposed to be a Japan-only exclusive, but due to the high interest and demand, BEAMS have decided to drop it globally.
